The singer and author has credited her glowing, clear complexion to the red setting on her LED Light Therapy mask.
"I have fewer wrinkles at 40 than I did at 38!", the Open Book author and mom of three said in an interview with Shape.
Adjusting her skincare routine helped the star minimize the onset of fine lines. "During this pandemic, I've gone down a skin care rabbit hole. I'm obsessed with doing red light therapy treatments at home. I place the LED mask everywhere on my body, including my scalp, stomach and boobs," Simpson said.
The device also treats Simpson's ongoing battle with eczema, which got worse after she gave birth to daughter Birdie, now 21 months.
"I've dealt with eczema since I was a kid. But after having Birdie, I had such bad flare-ups that I wouldn't even show the pictures of me holding her to my friends," the star admitted.
In addition to red light therapy, Simpson applies prescription topical ointment Eucrisa (she's a spokesperson for the brand) when eczema flares so it can quickly clear up.
"I will say that in two weeks it worked incredibly," she told PEOPLE last year. "I used it for three months and now I've noticed here and there I'll have a flare-up and I'll just put Eucrisa on for a week or two and it will be gone."
Simpson hopes that her honesty, whether it be about her eczema or body insecurities, inspires others to feel like their best selves.
"I am always open. I'm open about my insecurities and my flaws, and if I can help inspire anybody to feel better about themselves, that's why I'm here," Simpson told PEOPLE. "I'm always out to empower women, empower people to feel better about themselves."
